I see that two of you have been checking to see whether I've figured out this BLOG-STUFF. Hopefully, the next visitor will see some progress!
Wow! I've completed the first week of my two week general Family History training! I am learning tons of great skills to help me find and save family history sources and information. Unfortunately, right now the skill details are sort of floating randomly in a huge pot of Family History SOUP without any specific details or any tasty recipe to remind me exactly when each detail is needed. But I'm hoping that details fit with processes soon. I must be doing mostly OK, though, because my trainer has asked me to be the "guinea pig" to test documentation for a soon-to-be-released application.
I am enjoying my Family History training and I'm expecially excited at some of the interesting pieces of information I've gathered. Today I located this photo of the William Wilshire Richardson family that shows my Grandpa Albert Richardson as a youth. This picture of the William Wilshire Richardson family group was taken about 1899. I was also delighted to find a 1935 LDS census record for the Albert Richardson family; the entry was signed by my Aunt Edna. (Someone who knows more about placement of images in the blog is welcome to tell me how to improving the next entry!)This coming Friday, November 16 is the day new Family History missionaries are scheduled to receive their new mission assignments. I'll try to let you know about my new assignment ....
We had a sad happening this last week at Annette's house. Annette's darling, tiny black poodle Hishi died Thursday. Annette misses her terribly. Note: This was a very hard way to learn that dogs should NEVER be given a hambone. In fact, the vet said it is better not to give ANY bones to dogs (but especially not a ham bone).
Annette is making it a special experience for me to be here with her; she even brought me a lovely breakfast Saturday while I was studying in the morning. She is a kind, sweet sister!
As Thanksgiving approaches, I pray that your holiday will be a memorable family time even though some parts of the family are far away. Joel phoned and he and Becca are planning to visit with Becca's parents in Maryland. Last I heard, they're planning to meet with Michael and Angie and the boys somewhere near Baltimore during the weekend.
